Middle Ground Mediation Group

Resolving Disputes Through Mediation

The mediators of Middle Ground Mediation Group are familiar with disputes. Founding attorney Ian Leavengood has been helping clients resolve disputes for the better part of a decade, representing consumers and small businesses against large entities such as insurance companies, financial institutions and banks. Middle Ground Mediation Group was founded by Ian with the idea of using his fair minded, results-oriented style that he used as an advocate for his clients, as a neutral to resolve disputes and disagreements between parties so people can move on with their lives.

Ian has extensive experience as a consumer and commercial counselor and litigator in both Federal and State Courts; in fact, collectively he has handled thousands of disputed matters. As a consumer advocate, he frequently found that his clients were disadvantaged, without the financial resources to properly fight against a powerful, more financially secure opponent. As such, Ian decided to fight for those with limited resources by seeking compromise, with a focus on achieving an acceptable outcome with the limited resources available.

Middle Ground Mediation Group focuses on providing competent and professional services to all parties to a dispute. The Middle Ground mediators endeavor to provide a forum and the tools to better enable the parties to a dispute to evaluate the situation, including the strengths and weaknesses on both sides, and then help the parties to find the "middle ground". Almost any type of case can be mediated, including civil litigation, bankruptcy, landlord/tenant disputes, mortgage disputes and many more. Whether court ordered or considered on your own, mediation can offer the solution. We are here to help.

How Mediation Works

Mediation allows the parties to a lawsuit an opportunity to resolve their problem themselves rather than have a third party decide the outcome. Mediation generally works as a voluntary, consensual and collaborative effort permitting a great deal of flexibility, privacy opportunity for resolution that litigation might not otherwise provide. If mediation fails, all is not lost. The parties to the dispute are free to return to court for a judge or jury to decide a case, if necessary.

Middle Ground Mediation Group is a neutral and unbiased third party that helps facilitate negotiations through assistance in the evaluation and analysis of each side's position and needs, with an understanding of the issues involved. With this understanding, we strive to foster better communication and problem solving between the parties. What's more, mediation is confidential. This means you can honestly and earnestly tell your side of the story with willingness to compromise without fear or repercussion that such disclosure can later harm you should the case not settle at mediation.

Through careful evaluation, consideration of alternatives care and time reviewing and discussing the issues, our goal is to assist you in reaching a resolution that will be amenable to all parties without the costly need for protracted litigation. Middle Ground Mediation Group assists clients throughout Florida, with mediation space available throughout the Tampa Bay Area, including Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough, Polk, Hernando, Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
